BEESWAX CANDLE

During the summer of 2017, I worked with a studio called Fredericks and Mae based in Brooklyn . Throughout the internship, I’ve been collecting scrap beeswax and unsalable candles. I brought them back and cast them on rocks i found on Cranbrook campus. This is the 3rd series of candles I made. And it’s the 1st one with all natural material.

I was thinking about building a relationship between the places I’m making work and the objects I'm making. The objects then carry a history and a map.

I thought about borrowing material from the nature and returning it back to the nature after its life of being a functional object.
